May 10th is National Golf Day. By a stroke of luck and as par usual, I have several books on golfing. Let me address the first one…”Life With Par” by Morie Morrison, published 1958. This book is about two golfers Sandy Sandtrap and Doc Divot and their adventures and frustrations in golf. It is cartoon drawings with captions.

I won’t putter around but will slice right in to “From Tee to Cup, the book with a Hole” by Reg Manning, 1954. It also is full of illustrations, and has very interesting commentary on golf.

Also a little unusual is that there is a hole drilled through the book, that has a cartoon of someone golfing a ball into it. Each page has a different cartoon for the hole. The golfing humor in these books are truly entertaining.
They say golf balls are like eggs. They’re white, sold by the dozen, and a week later you have to buy some more. Thanks for reading.
