AA Milnes Birthday is today, January 18; and it is National Winnie-the-Pooh day. Who doesn’t love Winnie-the -pooh? I have several interesting Winnie the Pooh books to show you. The first book is “Winnie-the-Pooh” by A.A. Milne. My copy is from 1961 (it first came out in 1926). I also have “Winnie the Pooh” in Latin, 1961; and also “Pu der Bar” 1968 which is in German. Then there is “The House at Pooh Corner” 1959 (which was the 150th printing). This was the second book in Winnie the Pooh series.

I also have a moveable book “Winnie-the-Pooh’s Revolving Picture Book” 1990, from my pop-up book collection. There are six circle pictures, that when you spin the ribbon around, the pictures change like magic.

Winnie-the-Pooh has been used in other books for business. I have three here. Winnie-the-Pooh on Problem Solving” 1995 by Roger E. Allen and Stephen D. Allen. It is an interesting way to solve problems in the business world. (there are two more in series: WtP on Management and WtP on Success. I will have to add those soon).
I also have “The Tao of Pooh” 1982 by Benjamin Hoff, and “The Te of Piglet” 1992, also by Benjamin Hoff. These are more books that take the famous stories and have them analysed and used in the world. One can never get enough Winnie-the-Pooh.

I also have a paperweight on my library desk, given to me from Natalie’s mom.

So happy birthday A.A. Milne. I’ll leave with a quote from Winnie-the-Pooh that I had on my various desks at work: “People say that nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”
“Oh, bother.” I irritated so many bosses.
