World Hypnotism Day
I have several books on hypnotism. The prize one is “Hypnotism: Its Facts, Theories, and Related Phenomena with Explanatory Anecdotes, Descriptions and Reminiscences” by Carl Sextus, published 1893.

It is a great old book full of wonderful old stories and illustrations. I have included several from the book. No-one or nothing seems to escape being hypnotized. From a girl, to a whole tea party, to snakes, even lobsters and turtles.

I have several other books on hypnotism that are in the collection. They also are interesting to read. One is about the history of hypnotism in the last 100 years, and the other on how to improve ones life through self hypnotism.

“Self Hypnotism: the Technique and Its Use in Daily Living” is by Leslie M. LeCron, 1964. Also, “Hypnosis & Suggestion in Psychotherapy” by H. Bernheim, M.D. 1964. These two were given to me from a person who did a lot of studying with hypnosis and mind control. Included with those books were several old pamphlets from the Institute of Self Hypnosis, that one could order other books and tapes on the topic. Many of the unusual books were written by Volney Mathison. I will put them on my want list when shopping used book stores. Lastly I have “Practical Lessons in Hypnotism” by DR. WM. Wesley Cook, published by Willey Books 1933. I have a collection of Willy Books, together with Arcadia, Rarity Press, and Godwin Books. Sometimes their dust jackets are marvelous works of 1930’s and 40′ art.
So in my softest, most calming voice, please listen to “you are getting sleepy, sleepy, close your eyes. When you awake, you will go read a book.” “Snap!”
